Tessa Conners, Accounting Manager
Argosy Cruises Team Member since 1993
Current Department: Accounting
Hometown: Seattle, Washington
By her own admission, Tessa could do accounting anywhere. But to work for a place with a long Seattle history, strong "work family" relationships, and one in the business of selling fun? THAT'S a place to get hired on and to stick with.

What is your favorite cruise that Argosy offers?
It's a toss-up between the Lake Union Cruise and the Christmas Ship Festival...and Tillicum Village. I really like the Lake cruise because it gives such a broad view of Seattle. My five-year-old son really loves the "dancer guys" at Tillicum. He's very into the regalia, the drama, and the storytelling aspect of the performances.
What other Argosy department would you job shadow for a day?
I think I'd like to check out Maintenance! It's a little like accounting -- another behind-the scenes department that keeps things running. But the general public sees the results, the beauty of the boats.
What is your favorite Seattle waterfront stop (besides us)?
The Pike Place Market. Great people watching, and an excellent spot for lunch breaks.
What is your favorite thing to do in town when you are not working?
I enjoy exploring Seattle's different neighborhoods. The International District, Pioneer Square. And doing touristy things while I'm out and about.
What makes Argosy such a unique place to work?
It's always felt like such a family here. We are a diverse group of people, but we all love boats and the water. So here we are!
What is your favorite component of our cruises?
I appreciate that we have a lot of local vendors that we work with. But most of all, I really like our crew. They really are invested in providing an inclusive experience, and drawing their audience in. "You're part of our city now" is how it feels.
If you could charter one of our boats, which one would it be, where would you cruise, and what would you do?
Definitely music. A live band and dancing, with Elliott Bay views. I like all of our boats, but I'm a bit more partial to the Spirit of Seattle. And there's no better way to have a party than on a boat.
